Sometimes there is uncertainty about the nature of the loved one’s presenting problems or symptoms, including ambiguity about which diagnosis best fits and what the most appropriate treatment options may be. As such, Hanbleceya offers a diagnostic assessment that incorporates a formal clinical interview, a chemical dependency assessment if needed, and a battery of psychological testing measures.
Prior to the assessment, families are asked to provide a thorough timeline of observations and experiences of the loved one that relate to the potential mental health concern. If the loved one has had any prior experiences with hospitalization or treatment, the family is asked to provide those records as well. All of this documentation is reviewed by a clinical director, who will oversee the formal assessment. The loved one will spend one afternoon participating in psychological testing. A thorough report of the testing experience is written up and submitted to the clinical director.
The loved one will also undergo a chemical dependency assessment, if indicated. This assessment will also generate a report that is submitted to the clinical director. Then, the loved one and the family will meet with the clinical director for the formal clinical interview. A portion of the time will be spent with the family only. Upon completion of the assessment process, a comprehensive report will be written that incorporates the various assessment components and outlines the diagnostic impressions as well and makes recommendations for treatment. This report is reviewed with the family, and the loved one, if appropriate, and treatment options are discussed.
