In business since 1979, Hanbleceya has created a large network of referents. Numerous therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, educational consultants, hospitals and other treatment providers have been interacting with and providing referrals to Hanbleceya from all over the world for many years.
We pride ourselves on maintaining strong relationships and creating clear communication channels with those who so graciously refer to our facility. We also strive to preserve the relationships our Clients have with their private therapist or facility, and coordinate their return to their primary therapist after treatment, if desired.
If you have a Client you would like to refer to us, you can contact our admissions office at 619-466-0547, extension 205, or toll-free at 888-642-0295. If you reach our voicemail, listen to the message to retrieve the cell phone number of our admissions department “on-call.” You can also contact us using our contact form, or if you need to send us a fax, the number is 619-466-2609.
What is Hanbleceya?
Hanbleceya is a long-term treatment program that includes housing for individuals with a primary psychiatric disorder like schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, severe depression, and dual diagnoses. About two-thirds of our client census includes individuals who have a secondary, co-occurring addictive disorder.
All treatment, including group, Individual and family therapy, is conducted at our clinical offices in La Mesa. The address is: 5520 Wellesley Street, Suite 100, La Mesa, CA 91942.
Hanbleceya offers three (3) levels of care for adults, 18 years and older suffering from severe mental illnesses including schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, severe depression, and dual diagnoses.
- Level 1 – Our highest level of care is provided at our 6-bed, licensed Adult Residential Facility, VisionQuest Treatment House which is located across the street from our clinical offices and provides 24-hour, on-site support.
- Level 2 – The standard level of care is our Semi-Independent Living Program where clients live in one of six (6) residential houses in the neighborhood and attend regular programming at our clinical offices. This level of care includes intensive psychotherapy (individual, group, family), work development, social support, and support for learning basic living skills.
- Level 3 – Hanbleceya’s Transitional Outpatient program house is reserved for Hanbleceya clients who have completed the Semi-Independent Living Program and are ready to transition to independent, non-staff supported living. This is the final step prior to full transition into independent living status.
Hanbleceya’s objective is teaching our clients the skills they need to have a happy, healthy, independent life. This means being able to manage symptoms, have a job, pay bills, build and maintain healthy relationships, and generally be able to live life in an independent manner.
Duration of Treatment:
As stated above, the objective is to teach our clients the skills they need to have healthy independence in their life, no matter what amount of time it may take. The typical length of stay ranges from 90 days to 2 years. We do require a minimum 90-day commitment from the client/family. However, it’s important to understand that this amount of time is rarely sufficient for the majority of our client population.
We maintain a staff of highly trained individual therapists who all have significant experience working in a therapeutic milieu. Our senior clinical staff have an average of over 20 years of experience with this population. For referents, we would be happy to coordinate a direct phone call with one of our experience clinicians.
Progress updates and Discharge Summary:
Upon request, referring therapists, Ed Consultants and other facilities will receive a weekly update and upon discharge, a discharge summary.
Hanbleceya is a private pay facility. We do not accept any form of insurance directly. However, we will furnish our Clients, upon request, with a Superbill itemizing all billable services that they can submit to their insurance carrier.
All Hanbleceya employees are subjected to a background check and must sign a confidentiality agreement. Consistent with HIPAA regulations, we have strict guidelines regarding the privacy of our clients, and do not allow information to be dispersed without the written consent of the client. Any client photographs are first authorized by the client.
Before admitting into Hanbleceya, each client and their family will participate in three days of assessment at our La Mesa office which includes a half-day of comprehensive psychological testing and two days of on-site, clinical assessment. The clinical assessment includes individual sessions with multiple therapists, participation in therapy groups, lunch with other clients in the program, a 90-minute meeting with the Clinical Director and a 45-minute information gathering session with our program psychiatrist. Unless otherwise agreed to, Hanbleceya will conduct up to two assessments per week – from Monday through Wednesday and from Wednesday through Friday. Depending on how busy we are at the time, it may take 1-3 weeks to book an assessment appointment. Call the facility and ask what appointment dates are available.
Psychiatry & Management of Medications
All medications will be managed by our Psychiatrist and his staff. Clients will be assigned regular sessions with our Psychiatrist, generally on a 4-week rotational basis, but more frequent if needed.
